Join us to be part of a firm that values connection, expertise, and client support through every phase of a business journey.Role Summary:We are seeking a motivated Junior Accountant to join our growing public practice serving local businesses and professionals. This role is ideal for someone looking to build a strong foundation in accounting, assurance, and tax. You will work closely with senior team members, gain hands-on experience in client engagements, and develop technical and professional skills in a supportive environment.Key Responsibilities:Assist in preparing working papers for audit, review, and compilation engagementsPrepare corporate, personal, and trust tax returns Support clients with bookkeeping and financial reporting Perform bank reconciliations, adjusting journal entries, and related schedulesAssist in ensuring compliance with ASPE, IFRS, ASNFPO, and tax regulationsCommunicate with clients regarding information requests and follow-upsCollaborate with and learn from senior accountants and managersQualifications:Enrolled in or recent graduate of an accounting program (CPA students welcome)1–2 years of experience in public practice preferred (new graduates will be considered)Familiar with QuickBooks Online, CaseWare, Excel, and WordStrong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skillsExcellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin) an assetEager to learn, adaptable, and committed to professional growthThe Offer:Salary range: $50,000 - $60,000/year Performance bonusHealth spending accountCareer growth opportunitiesJoin the close-knit team at Mak & Fong and develop your skills in a collaborative, professional environment.
