Junior Application Support Engineer

Company DescriptionFBD Holdings PLCJob DescriptionJob OverviewWe are looking to recruit a versatile, analytical and highly motivated Junior Software Engineer to support in evaluating and troubleshooting our systems. Successful candidates will work closely with the business and IT teams through the provision and management of software fixes and enhancements to business systems.Job ResponsibilitiesIdentify, investigate and resolve a range of technical issues affecting business systems by exceeding target SLAsDevelop strong working relationships with key business members, IT project and development teams and relevant 3rd party vendorsEscalate high impacting incidents where appropriate and follow up to ensure resolutionAssist in the change request process for the applications, verify plans and raise change requestsDemonstrate flexibility to cope with changing demands based on business prioritySupport of system deployments from business and liaising with 3rd party vendors where relevantOrganising meetings with members of the business, IT and 3rd party vendors to discuss system issuesEducationIT 3rd Level technical qualification (e.g. computer science degree or similar)CompetenciesUnderstanding of the SDLCExperience in a technical delivery role with a demonstrable ability to deal with a wide range of business areas and 3rd party vendorsUnderstanding of ITIL IT Incident and Change processesUnderstand IT support services focused on service improvement to identify potential incidents before they occurStrong software troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and oral communications skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.A self-starter with an ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Experience of all aspects of software project life cycles from requirements gathering, through design, development and ImplementationAbility to work on own initiative and as part of a teamMCCExcellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentTeam playerStrong interest in continuously improvingFooterThis role sits within the A pay grade in the IT department.FBD is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
