WaterfordReporting to: Group Strategic Procurement ManagerContract type: 6 Month Fixed Term Contract with the potential for extension based on performance and business needs.Role Summary: We wish to recruit a Procurement Specialist – Junior Buyer to join our Group Strategic Procurement team based at our head office in Waterford. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the team through best-in-class sourcing practices and by adhering to best practice procedures, delivering a quality service, and maximising value for money and cost efficiencies on behalf of the Group. Full Training will be provided.This is a FTC role. The Categories of focus are primarily production critical consumables. The candidate will be a resource also across the Services, Packaging and sustainability buying teams.ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be based at our Group Offices in Grannagh, Waterford and will support & be responsible for; Supporting the Group Strategic Procurement Manager on behalf of the sites in both Ireland and the UK; Supporting Cross-functional teams with their project objectives; Promoting best procurement practices across the Group; Development sourcing strategies; Development of risk mitigation strategies; Researching and Prequalifying for new suppliers; Researching & Analysing new potential projects; Following market trends to identify products which are fit for the purpose; Preparing tender documentation & analysing responses; Negotiating prices with suppliers; Involved in writing up contracts & terms of sale; Managing supplier relationships; Problem Solving disputes and claims with suppliers; Keep approved supplier product programs up to date; Preparing reports & reporting to Senior Managers & Executives; Project Deployment & Managing Change; Project Managing Categories; Crisis Management Unexpected Events; QualificationsYour role will see you tackle a wide range of business challenges in a busy and changing environment. The ideal candidate will have or can demonstrate: The ability to build and maintain a good team and cross-functional relationships; The ability both written and verbal to clearly communicate to the relevant stakeholders; The ability to lead by example and develop other team members; The ability to Focus on continuous improvement and implementation of problem-solving techniques; The ability to implement good follow-up and control in all aspects of the role; The ability to plan, schedule and organise priority tasks as necessary; Some Supply Chain knowledge; Some Project Management knowledge. Experience: IT proficient to an advanced standard in Microsoft Office and in particular Microsoft Excel; Relevant 3rd level qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain or Business is desirable. INDLP
