Role OverviewWe’re looking for a dynamic Junior Buyer & Designer to join our Corporate Sales Team - someone who’s as comfortable coordinating product development and supplier timelines as they are bringing creative ideas to life. You’ll work across client projects, supporting both the buying and design processes to deliver on-brand, high-quality merchandise and corporate collections.This role blends creativity, commercial thinking, and project management - perfect for someone eager to grow in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.Key ResponsibilitiesBuying & Sourcing:Assist in sourcing and selecting products, fabrics, and materials aligned with client briefs and brand standards.Build strong relationships with local and international suppliers.Support negotiations around pricing, terms, and lead times to meet project budgets and margin targets.Track orders, manage production timelines, and ensure on-time delivery of all client merchandise.Conduct trend and competitor research to keep collections relevant and commercially strong.Design & Development:Contribute to concept creation, mood boards, and range planning for client collections.Translate client requirements into design concepts, sketches, and technical specifications.Liaise with suppliers and factories to ensure accurate execution of designs.Maintain product databases, sample libraries, and project archives.Provide creative input for packaging, branding, and presentation materials.Project Coordination:Assist the sales and account teams with timelines, samples, and approvals.Help manage multiple client projects simultaneously, ensuring smooth workflow from idea to delivery.Communicate proactively with internal teams and suppliers to keep all moving parts aligned.Requirements:Diploma or degree in Fashion Design, Buying, Merchandising, or related field.1–2 years’ experience in buying, product design, or merchandising (internships count!).Strong understanding of trends, materials, and product development processes.Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator/Photoshop) or similar tools.Excellent Excel and admin skills for tracking orders and budgets.Detail-driven, organized, and confident managing multiple deadlines.Energetic, adaptable, and thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.Key AttributesCreative and commercially minded - understands both design and delivery.Confident communicator who collaborates easily across teams.Self-starter with initiative and follow-through.Curious, driven, and eager to learn and grow in the corporate design space.👉 Sound like you?📩 Send your CV and a short note on why you'd be a great fit to: recruitment@oldschool.co.za📝 Fill in this Microsoft Form (compulsory for your application to be valid):👉 Junior Buyer/ Designer for Corporate Sales Team📅 Deadline: Applications close 16 November 2025
