We have lots of work ongoing and a full-order book ahead, we need more good people to come on board our team.The OpportunityWe are looking for a Junior Buyer to join our mission critical projects (pharma/data centres) in Waterford. The successful applicant will work closely with the project leadership team and wider procurement department to ensure the successful delivery of the projects for our clients and stakeholders.Junior BuyerThe Junior Buyer will support the electrical procurement function in sourcing and purchasing materials, equipment, and subcontract services for data centre and pharmaceutical projects, where technical precision, compliance, and reliability are critical.The role involves working closely with the procurement, commercial, engineering, and project delivery teams to ensure all electrical materials and services are procured on time, to specification, and within budget, while maintaining strict standards of quality and traceability.This is an ideal position for someone early in their career, with a strong interest in electrical building services procurement within high-spec, controlled environments.Here are some of the key duties of this role:Support the procurement of materials and equipment for data centre and pharma projects.Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations, ensuring technical compliance, best value, and adherence to specification.Raise and manage purchase orders, tracking progress and ensuring timely deliveries to site.Liaise with project engineers, site managers, and logistics teams to forecast and coordinate material requirements.Support the prequalification and approval of suppliers based on compliance, safety, and quality standards (including ISO and GMP where applicable).Assist in document control for supplier data sheets, certification, and material traceability documentation.Monitor delivery schedules and flag potential issues or delays to senior team members.Help maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records within the company’s ERP/procurement system (Coins).Support invoice reconciliation and resolve order or pricing discrepancies.Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company procedures, site safety standards, and client-specific protocols.Participate in value engineering exercises and alternative product sourcing when required.Key Qualifications Required1-2 years’ experience in a procurement, buying, or supply chain role, ideally within an electrical or M&E construction environment.Qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or Building Services (HNC/HND/Degree) desirable.Working towards or interested in CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) certification.Why Join The STS Group?A dynamic, growing company in the construction industry.A supportive team where your skills will be valued and developed.Competitive remuneration package.We are an Equal Opportunities Employer, we encourage people from all walks of life to apply.
