Junior Data Engineer - BI Developer - Asset ManagementWe are seeking a hands-on Junior Data Engineer / BI Developer to design, implement, and maintain data solutions that directly support front and middle-office investment teams. The role blends data engineering with applied analytics, enabling portfolio managers and investment professionals to make better decisions through high-quality, well-governed data.You will build robust data pipelines, develop insightful Power BI dashboards, and ensure data quality across systems including Snowflake, SQL databases, Power BI, Bloomberg, and SimCorp.This is a mid-level role suited to someone who wants to see the tangible impact of their work in an investment management environment. The position sits with the Investment Management team but operates within the wider Technology function, following IT governance, procedures, and policies.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines into Snowflake, integrating internal and external sources (Bloomberg feeds, SimCorp outputs, market data vendors).Develop Power BI dashboards and reports for portfolio managers and other stakeholders.Deliver rapid prototypes and iterate into secure, supportable production tools.Design and optimise data models in Snowflake to support analytics, reporting, and decision-making.Ensure data accuracy, lineage, and security through robust governance practices.Automate manual workflows to improve efficiency in data delivery and reporting.Collaborate with investment and technology teams to capture requirements and deliver scalable, data-driven solutions.Skills & ExperienceStrong Python and SQL skills, with experience in Snowflake or another cloud-based data warehouse.PowerShell scripting experience.Proven ability to build reports and dashboards in Power BI (including DAX and Power Query).Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools such as dbt, Matillion, or Informatica.Exposure to APIs and data integrations from market-data providers.Knowledge of financial data and systems (Bloomberg, SimCorp Dimension) and an understanding of investment management workflows (portfolio management, risk, compliance, performance reporting).Familiarity with GitHub and modern AI/LLM tools (OpenAI APIs, agentic workflows).QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Quantitative Finance, or a related field.2+ years’ experience in data engineering, BI development, or analytics.Previous experience in asset management, hedge funds, or investment banking is preferred.Nice to HaveExperience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).Familiarity with data governance frameworks and LLM safety/privacy principles.Exposure to ESG data and reporting.Bank Banking Junior Data Engineer Junior Graduate Investment Banking Wealth Management Front Office
