Junior Design Engineer

ROLE : JuniorDesign EngineerLOCATION: CheltenhamTERM: PermanentSALARY: GBP 27,000 : GBP 32,000 per annum, dependent on experienceMy client specialises in fabrication for a range of industries, and they are looking to take on a Design Engineer on a permanent basis in the Cheltenham area.They will consider Graduates for this vacancy too.The Junior Design Engineerwill Ideally Have The Following Attributes: Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar: Previous experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment (Not a necessity): Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo etc.: Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances: Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi:disciplinary team: Have the ability to carry out mechanical calculations: Any previous experience of working with process machinery or steel / metal materials would be desirable: Excellent communication skills both verbal and written: Proficient using MS Office: Excellent organisational skills and time management skillsThe Junior Design Engineer Role Will Involve: Working within the current engineering team with other Design Engineers: Producing 3D designs using Autodesk Inventor CAD software and 2D designs with AutoCAD: Liaising with manufacturing providers: Being involved in final assembly of products: Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans: Updating 3D models and drawings: Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs: Checking drawings for sign off: Working in a small multi:disciplinary team on varied projectsIf you are interested in this position, please apply with an up to date CV as soon as possible.
