About The RoleWe are looking for a motivated Junior IT Infrastructure Engineer with around 3 years of hands-on experience to help maintain and improve our IT infrastructure. In this role, you will support the operation of servers, networking equipment, virtualization platforms, and storage systems. You will work closely with senior engineers to ensure our environment remains secure, stable, and performant, while gaining experience in design, implementation, and optimization of infrastructure solutionsYour ResponsibilitiesInfrastructure Operations & ImplementationAssist in deploying and maintaining IT infrastructure components, including servers, networking hardware, and storage systemsParticipate in setting up and improving LAN and WAN environments under the guidance of senior engineersServer and Storage ManagementHelp manage and monitor enterprise servers (e.g. Dell, Supermicro, HP)Support the operation of NAS and storage solutions (e.g., Synology, Dell Storage), contributing to backup, redundancy, and capacity planning tasksNetworking & SecurityConfigure and support switches, access points, and basic routing on devices from vendors such as Aruba, Dell, Cisco, and othersAssist in managing core network services (DNS, DHCP, NAT, NFS) and contribute to basic IPv4/IPv6 configurationSupport the setup and maintenance of VPN solutions (e.g., OpenVPN, WireGuard) and help with RADIUS and DMZ configurations under supervisionSystem AdministrationPerform day-to-day administration of Linux, Windows, and macOS systemsSupport deployment and operation of virtualized environments using platforms such as VMware and ProxmoxMonitoring and PerformanceUse monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix) to track system and network health, identify basic issues, and escalate or resolve them according to proceduresContribute to maintaining uptime and meeting internal SLAs by reacting to alerts and incidentsDomain and Directory ServicesAssist in managing Windows Active Directory including user, group, and basic policy administrationHelp maintain domain-related services and routing relevant to user and device accessBeneficial SkillsBasic knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) or strong interest in learning themFamiliarity with IT compliance, documentation, and risk management conceptsWindows Server (e.g. 2019/2022/2025) and Active Directory administrationCloud platforms (Azure, AWS) – even at a basic or lab levelContainerization tools (Docker; Kubernetes is a plus)Server administration (hardware and OS-level tasks)Basic networking (VLANs, switching, routing fundamentals)Storage or NAS solutionsYour ProfileApproximately 3+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, system administration, or a similar IT operations roleGood understanding of at least one major operating system family (Linux and/or Windows); familiarity with macOS is a plusExposure to virtualization platforms (e.g. VMware, Proxmox, KVM)Basic experience with monitoring tools (e.g. Zabbix or similar)Awareness of security best practices (VPN usage, access control, least privilege)Strong troubleshooting mindset and willingness to document and follow proceduresFluent in written and spoken English and GermanValid driving license in the European Union.
