Job Description
PositionThe resource will support the Design team in all the activities related to Knitwear for Women’s, Men’s and Accessory’s collections. The position includes all knitwear activities from material development to delivery of sales campaigns and season archiving.Job ResponsibilitiesResearch:Collaborates in Material research: fibers, yarns, colors with internal and external manufacturers in close collaboration with Knit Material team;Contributes to Technical research: stitches, technics, patterns, embellishments with internal and external suppliers in daily collaboration with Knitwear Product and Technical team;Participates in collective Iconographic, Vintage and Product extensive research to elaborate Collection concepts within the respect of Design and Product company directions.Presentations:Contributes to all Team communication tools: Boards, Digital files, InDesign, PPT documents;Participate in organizing and setting-up all Knitwear meetings and presentations in collaboration with Coordination Teams and all relevant Teams from various Departments;Attend required studio photo-shoots to support Design, Merchandising and Visual Teams.Design creation:Participates in bi-annual Design hand-sketches developments with Knit Design Team;Collaborates in various Pattern and Texture Designs (Jacquards, Intarsia, Stripes, Embroideries…) with self-try on hand-machines available in the Studio, or with digital computer work precise enough to be handled to knit factories;Contributes to design technical digital sketches of all Knitwear Collections for Sale CampaignsCollection development:Supports all Collection developments within company time frame in daily collaboration with Knitwear Product and Technical Teams and close exchanges with Knit Material team;Prepare all necessary technical specifications of each style attributed as assignment, to clearly convey all precise Design directions and requirements;Attend with Design and Product Teams all fittings required to achieve accurate intended objective, in Proto-phase, Edit-Phase and Sample-phase;Up-date the Team communication tools, following up daily Collection progress;Contribute to Knitwear weekly up-date exchanges with involved Knit Teams;Participate in Seasonal’s archival work directory.ProfileMaster’s degree Knitwear Design indifferently focused on Women and/or Men.At least 1 year in previous Knitwear Designer position in Fashion House.High sensitivity and curiosity for Loro Piana Products and Materials.Confirmed team player, strong organizational skills, consistent open-minded attitude.Interest in learning: methods, technics, design areas. Flexibility and adaptability to new context.Fluent Italian, both spoken and written. English knowledge is considered a plus.Strong IT Design skills in Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and professional mastery of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
