Our South African footprint of developments and strong real estate brands includes mixed-use precincts, inclusionary housing, retirement villages and secure lifestyle estates.Our international expansions are focused in the United Kingdom and the United States of America.We are looking to recruit a passionate and dynamic Junior Legal Advisor (Compliance) to join our Legal department in Tokai, Cape Town.What does the role entail?As a Junior Legal Advisor (Compliance), you will play a key role in supporting the legal and compliance functions, ensuring our operations remain aligned with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. You will be involved in reviewing contracts, monitoring regulatory risks, and supporting property development, investment, and management activities from a legal and compliance standpoint.This role is ideal for a law graduate or early-career legal professional looking to gain experience in property law, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.Legal Support:Draft and review contracts and legal documents (e.g. sale agreements, lease agreements, service level agreements, addendums).Support legal due diligence in property acquisitions, sales, and leasing transactions.Maintain and organize legal documentation, contracts, and compliance registers.Compliance and Corporate Governance Support:Assist in ensuring compliance with corporate governance obligations (e.g. board resolutions, company filings).Assist in monitoring compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations (CIPC, CSOS, FICA, PAIA, POPIA, PPRA)Support the implementation and ongoing management of compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures.Help conduct internal compliance audits and follow-up on remediation actions.Support risk assessments relating to legal, regulatory, and reputational risks in development and management projects.Research & Monitoring:Conduct legal research on property law and compliance developments.Monitor regulatory changes and communicate relevant updates to internal teams.Stakeholder Liaison:Coordinate with external legal counsel, regulatory bodies, local authorities, and internal teams.What are the requirements of the role?Admitted attorneyLaw degree (LLB or equivalent)0–3 years of relevant legal/compliance experienceMust reside in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town or within a 20 minute commute thereof.Basic knowledge of property law, contracts, and compliance frameworks.Strong interest in real estate development and regulatory compliance.NB: If you are unable to apply for this position via LinkedIn, kindly forward a copy of your CV to hr@amdec.co.za
