Junior Mechanical Engineer

Purpose of the RoleThis role is focused on supporting the engineering team in delivering high-quality Mechanical engineering designs and solutions for both internal stakeholders and external clients. The successful candidate will be instrumental in the delivery of a major new data centre project in Finland.Key ResponsibilitiesCross-Disciplinary Collaboration:Work cooperatively across engineering disciplines, contributing to and at times leading multi-disciplinary project teams in accordance with company procedures.Stakeholder Engagement:Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, sub-contractors, and specialist suppliers, ensuring confidentiality and professionalism in all communications and documentation.Resource and Cost Management:Ensure efficient use of company resources and sub-contract packages in line with project cost plans. Prepare cost estimates for electrical service implementation.Site Surveying & Design Development:Conduct site surveys to assess client needs, recommend solutions, and produce compliant, cost-effective electrical service designs that meet project timelines and user requirements.Health & Safety Compliance:Contribute to the preparation of health and safety method statements and risk assessments in line with current construction legislation.Tendering Support:Produce tender enquiry documentation for electrical service contracts. Assist quantity surveyors with tender evaluations.Project Oversight & Quality Assurance:Monitor and provide feedback on subcontractors’ work. Attend regular engineering meetings, remain up-to-date with legal and policy changes, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.Client-Cantered Service:Deliver a high standard of professional engineering services aligned with the company’s quality assurance framework.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related fieldMinimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in the data centre or mission-critical infrastructure environmentValid driver’s licenceStrong interpersonal and teamworking skillsFamiliarity with European construction standards and safety legislation is a plusThe Company is offeringSalary - Competitive + a very generous Rotation PackageAccommodation, Travel to and from site covered, Flights Paid for on a rotational Basis
