Job Description DetailsThe Junior Quality Assurance Associate estimates, plans, and coordinates testing activities. This positionis also responsible for ensuring that quality issues and defects are appropriately identified, documented,tracked, and resolved in the defect tracking system.Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesReviews requirements specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.Creates detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases.Estimates, prioritizes, plans, and coordinates testing activities.Designs, develops and executes automation scripts using open-source tools Identifies, records and tracks bugs, and ensures that these are documented thoroughly.Performs thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.Prepares quality assurance action plans during new product development stage.Applies technical skills for quality function deployment, design for manufacturability, and in the development of design failure mode and effect analysis file.Validates quality processes by determining operational testing plans and performance qualification, writing and updating quality assurance procedures, and revising product part approval process documentation and samples. Investigates customer complaints and/or failure mode definition in partnership with technical service and product management. Maintain and improve customer problem responses by assisting Quality department members with problem solving reports.Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validation.Updates quality assurance job knowledge by studying trends and developments in quality management, participating in educational and training opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science/Engineering or other related fields.Proven working experience in software development and software quality assurance.Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases.Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing and automated testing tools.Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.Preferred QualificationsKeen attention to detailStrong customer service orientationExperience working in a team-oriented, matrix environment.Outstanding communication (oral, written, presentation), interpersonal and consultative skills.Must possess a high degree of integrity and trust along with the ability to work independently.Demonstrated organization, facilitation, communication, and presentation skills.
