Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role at Hyatt Place for a Junior Sous Chef located in Scoresby, VIC. The Junior Sous Chef will assist in daily kitchen operations, manage ingredient preparation, and ensure food quality and presentation meet Hyatt Place standards. Responsibilities include maintaining standards in the absence of the head chef, supervising kitchen staff, maintaining cleanliness, and inventory management. The role also involves menu planning, training new staff, and upholding health and safety compliance. Qualifications Culinary skills: Proficiency in ingredient preparation, cooking techniques, and food presentationSupervisory skills: Experience in supervising kitchen staff and maintaining a clean and organised kitchenMenu planning: Ability to assist in developing and planning menusHealth and safety regulations: Knowledge of health and safety standards and practices in a kitchen environmentPositive attitude: Strong communication skills and ability to work collaborativelyRelevant experience in a similar role is essential. Culinary education or certifications is a must.
