THE POSITIONThe position holder will accompany the Boehringer Ingelheim's global business partners in EMEA Region in their tax declaration obligations (e.g. CIT, WHT, VAT, Tax Accounting, etc.) and specific issues within the scope of the respective country responsibility. As a point of contact between different organizations within Global Business Services and Corporate Tax, the position holder will gather, reconcile and validate the data required for tax filings. Further, this person will be responsible for the preparation work of tax declarations for Boehringer Ingelheim's entities in multiple countries (e.g., advance returns, recapitulative statements, etc.).Tasks & ResponsibilitiesAs a Junior Tax Services Specialist, you are responsible for:Data gathering (i.e. for CIT, WHT, VAT, Tax Accounting, etc.) from different data sources for the preparation of different tax returns and other fiscal reports within the country responsibilityEnsuring completeness and correctness of all gathered data. Reconciliation and validation of gathered dataCoordination of tax-related change activities and postings in line with the business service organizationEnsuring high-quality preparation of tax returns (i.e. CIT, WHT, VAT, etc.) and other fiscal reports within the statutory deadlines for subsidiaries in multiple countries. This includes evaluation of data, solution design (e.g. design of preventive and detective controls) and corrective actions (if necessary) and documentation (e.g. tax issue files/reports/assessment notices), and archiving of related issue filesClose cooperation with various functions internally and externally (The Corporate Tax Function as well as other within GBS or globally) and handling specific questions, requirements, and/or issues within the country responsibilityAbout our future employeeYou should speak English fluently and be a motivated person with a minimum of 1 year of professional experience in a tax consulting firm or a comparable position of an internationally operating company, preferably in a shared service setup.Additionally, we are looking for:You should have the practical experience and knowledge of financial and/or tax accounting topics and operations, particularly with regard to CIT, WHT, VAT, or Tax Accounting as well as be able to keep up with changing guidelinesHigh affinity for systems landscapes like MS Office (especially MS Excel), SAP-FI/ SAP S/4 HANAExcellent communication and intercultural skillsIdeally Bachelor’s degree (B.A., B.Sc.) in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Taxation, Law or similarTeam player with strong analytical, interpersonal, and negotiating skills as well as an independent way of workingOur CompanyWhy Boehringer Ingelheim?With us, you can develop your own path in a company with a culture that knows our differences are our strengths - and break new ground in the drive to make millions of lives better.Here, your development is our priority.
