Kamoto Copper CompanyJob DescriptionThe Manager – Technical Studies will focus on projects identified in the Life of Mine Asset (LoA) process as critical to unconstraining future operations. These projects are aimed at addressing bottlenecks, optimising capacity and enabling the site to deliver its strategic production and cost targets. The role will be responsible for developing the initial concept phase of each project, ensuring that technical, operational, and commercial feasibility is established before formal handover to the Project team for detailed design and execution. He/She will have, among other things, the following responsibilities (non-exhaustive list):

Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary studies team. Promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement in study methodologies. Foster a safe-production, results-oriented culture. Translate LoA-identified opportunities into clearly defined study scopes and deliverables. Lead concept studies to evaluate potential solutions for removing operational and production constraints across mining, processing, logistics, and infrastructure. Conduct high-level options analysis, trade-off studies, and risk assessments to inform go/no-go decisions. Prepare business case inputs including preliminary capital and operating cost estimates, expected benefits, and high-level schedules. Engage closely with operational teams to validate assumptions and ensure concepts are practical and implementable.

Provide a robust study handover package to the Project Delivery team, including all technical, cost, schedule, and risk documentation. Job RequirementsQualifications and experienceBachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Geology, or related field; postgraduate qualification in project management or business advantageous. 10+ years’ experience in mining operations and/or technical project delivery, with significant exposure to scoping, prefeasibility, and feasibility studies. Strong understanding of mine planning, mineral processing, infrastructure development, and cost estimation. Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and external contractors. Familiarity with stage gate and project governance frameworks. Core CompetenciesStrategic thinking and commercial acumen.
