The Department of Neurobiology, Care Sciences and Society (NVS) conducts world leading research in aging, dementia, epidemiology and care sciences. This research extends from basic molecular and cell levels to clinical research and societal studies. NVS educates almost a third of KI students at basic and advanced levels. The Department has approximately 540 employees and a revenue 2023 of 530 million SEK. It comprises seven divisions, located at Campus Flemingsberg and Campus Solna. Aging Research Center (ARC), a division within NVS, is located at KI Campus Solna, Stockholm. It is a multidisciplinary academic environment, representing medicine (e. g.
, neurology, epidemiology, psychiatry, geriatrics), psychology (e. g. , cognition, structural, functional, and molecular brain imaging), and social gerontology (e. g. , sociology, public health, social epidemiology, social work). The center has around 70 employees, it has a strong focus on research with unique research resources, such as large-scale longitudinal studies and nationwide registries. Your missionWe are looking for a research assistant to contribute to a project on cardiovascular health and dementia development in older adults.
The project will be based on a population-based study including more than 3,000 adults with longitudinal biological and clinical data. Its overall aim will be to explore the interplay between cardiovascular health, biomarkers of Alzheimer’s disease, and dementia onset. We are looking for a highly motivated research assistant with a strong clinical background and solid analytical skills, who will work under the main supervision of Assistant Professor Giulia Grande. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the design, statistical analysis, and interpretation of epidemiological data, with particular focus on longitudinal modeling and integration of clinical and biomarker information.
This is a full-time, temporary position with a duration of 6 months. Your profileThe successful candidate is expected to: Hold a medical degree, preferably with a specialization in geriatric medicine or neurologyHave demonstrated experience in conducting statistical analyses using software such as R, Stata, or SPSSHave prior experience working with longitudinal dataHave a solid understanding of epidemiological methods, preferably in the context of aging researchHave strong clinical knowledge and experience related to geriatric syndromes, including multimorbidity and dementiaPossess excellent written and spoken English skillsPrevious contributions to scientific publications are considered a merit.
Familiarity with blood-based biomarkers of Alzheimer’s disease is an advantage. Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary environments, are essential.
