We furnish all labor, supervision, management, tools, materials, equipment, facilities, transportation, incidental engineering, and other items necessary to perform renovations, repairs, maintenance, replacements, alterations, demolition, and provision of temporary facilities for NAVFAC construction category II, III, and IV tasks. KBR/JOC ensures delivery to the highest standard in every aspect of construction work in a timely manner allowing deployed personnel to focus on mission execution. Job SummaryThe Electrical Engineer reports directly to the JOC Program Manager and will be responsible for analyzing, creating designs, ensuring safety standards and troubleshooting issues in power transmission systems.
The position involves Working with the project manager on production efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budgetRoles And ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and review electrical systems and components for projects. Responsible for study, design, specification and services related to electrical and electronic systems including power generation, transmission and distribution, power systems performance and control, cabling and wiring, lighting, motor control centers, communications systems, cathodic protection, grounding lightning protection, heat tracing etc.
Reading blueprints and laying out electrical circuits for installation, installing new wiring and electrical systems, and inspecting and troubleshooting faulty circuitsPrepare technical specifications, drawings, calculations and documentation. Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments. Develop maintenance and testing procedures for electrical and electronic components and equipmentCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project requirements are met. Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems. Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulations. Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during project execution. Address any issues or deficiencies promptly to maintain project quality.
Job may require moderate to heavy liftingCollaborate and coordinate with other construction professionals such as plumbers, framers, and HVAC techniciansProvide guidance and training to apprentice electricians as needed. Observing and following all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment. Plan and develop applications and modifications for electrical and electronic components used in parts and systems to improve technical performance. Basic QualificationsBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field. Proven experience in electrical design and project management. Proficiency with electrical design software (e. g. , AutoCAD, ETAP, Revit).
Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards (NEC, IEC, etc. ). Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. You should also be comfortable working at heights or in confined spaces depending on the project. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar role. Strong knowledge of construction methods, safety regulations, and quality standards. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Relevant certifications (e. g. , OSHA, PMP) preferred. Must Have Computer and Communication skills. Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 12 months of remaining validity and with at least 6 blank visa/stamp pages remainingMust possess driver’s license with at least 6 months of remaining validityPreferred QualificationsExperience with large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects.
