Works efficiently in a team based environment and must follow all cash handling policies and procedures as well as all internal controls, consistently.
All duties as assigned by the Director of Finance or their designate and in line with the hotel’s business plan. The function should be supportive, proactive, analytical and entrepreneurial; creating memorable experiences for our guests and fostering an empowered environment for the team. They should be able to work closely with all key business partners in order to achieve quality results. The job incumbent acts as a brand ambassador for the hotel, reflecting the company culture and values. All work is carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures and service concepts according to local requirements and regulations.
ResponsibilitiesTo be responsible for cashier’s house fund, and its safekeepingTo ensure that a check is made and recorded in the POS system for every food & beverage sale in the outletTo ensure that a check is made and recorded in the POS system for any meals consumed by employees, or any service offered to guests as complimentary or entertainmentTo prepare cashier’s summary and tally it with Micros (POS) reading at the close of his shiftTo printing and tally transaction list from credit card machines with physical check, andPOS reading.
To prepare deposit envelope, write the deposit amount in cashier’s deposit sheet and drop the envelope in the Front Office safe depository, in the presence of a witness, who has also signed the witness column of the cashier’s deposit sheetResponsible for checking the system daily and completing all administrative proceduresconcerning allocated tasksPerforms duties common to all and any project assignments as and when requestedSupports a safe hotel by applying hotel regulations, and adhering to existing laws andregulationsAnticipates possible and probable hazards and conditions and takes action to prevent them from happeningMaintains the highest standards of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, appearance, bodylanguage and conductPrepares all appropriate period closing reports and entriesFollows all applicable laws relating to general accounting practices and tax regulationsComplies fully with the set financial reporting deadlines and guidelines, as outlined bythe Director of FinanceRequirements3+ years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably in a luxury hotelProfessional certification/development in relevant discipline e.
