Job Purpose: The Director – Project Contract Management will lead, manage, and oversee the full lifecycle of contractual, commercial, and legal aspects of large-scale airport development, expansion, and infrastructure projects. This includes contract formulation, negotiation, risk mitigation, compliance, and ongoing contract administration to ensure delivery excellence, cost control, and alignment with regulatory and corporate standards. Key Responsibilities: 🔹 Contract Development & NegotiationLead the preparation, review, and negotiation of construction, engineering, consultancy, and procurement contracts (e. g. , FIDIC, EPC, Design-Build). Draft contract strategies for various project delivery models. Ensure alignment with legal standards, local and international regulations, and project specifications.
🔹 Contract Administration & Lifecycle ManagementManage the contract lifecycle from tendering to close-out, ensuring compliance with scope, schedule, and cost. Monitor contractor performance and compliance, addressing delays, cost overruns, or breaches. Ensure proper documentation and control of change orders, claims, extensions, and variations. 🔹 Stakeholder EngagementServe as a primary point of contact between the project team, legal counsel, contractors, vendors, and consultants. Collaborate with airport authorities, government agencies, legal teams, finance, and project managers to resolve contract-related issues. Represent the organization in negotiations and high-level meetings. 🔹 Risk Management & Claims HandlingIdentify, analyze, and manage contractual risks across all project phases.
Review and evaluate claims, disputes, and entitlements raised by contractors or vendors. Work with legal teams to handle arbitration, litigation, and dispute resolution where needed. 🔹 Team Leadership & GovernanceBuild and lead a team of contract administrators, commercial managers, and legal advisors. Establish and maintain best practices in contract management processes, tools, and governance. Provide training and guidance on contractual matters to project and procurement teams. 🔹 Reporting & ControlsMonitor KPIs, contract deliverables, and budget impacts. Provide executive-level reporting on contract status, risks, and opportunities. Support internal and external audits related to project contracts. Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Law, or Business. Master’s degree (MBA, LLM) or certifications (MRICS, PMP, CCM) preferred. Minimum 8 years of experience in contract management, with at least 3 years in leadership roles on major infrastructure or airport projects. Strong experience with FIDIC, NEC, EPC, PPP or government/public contracts. Proven ability to manage multi-billion dollar contracts and cross-functional teams. Experience working with airport operators, civil aviation authorities, and international contractors/consultants.
