These roles offer the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across all areas of HR while supporting a diverse and evolving workforce.
One of the two roles requires fluency in both English and French to support our bilingual workforce and our expansion into French-speaking regions. As a Human Resources Generalist, you will play a key role in delivering day-to-day HR support, recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, driving employee engagement, and operational excellence and compliance. You’ll be a trusted partner to managers and employees alike providing hands-on HR guidance and solutions, and expertise while helping shape the future of our workplace culture. This is an in-office role based in Markham, Ontario, with occasional visits to our retail store locations.
What You’ll DoPolicy Development and Review: Review, update, and maintain company policies, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and best practices. Develop new policies to address organizational changes, employee needs, and emerging workplace trends. Communicate policy changes effectively across the organization and ensure proper implementation. Collaborate with leadership to align policies with Kiokii’s values and strategic goals. Employee Relations and Engagement: Act as the point of contact for employee concerns, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. Advise managers and employees on HR-related issues, ensuring fair treatment and adherence to policies.
Develop initiatives to enhance employee engagement, retention, and satisfaction. Recruitment and Talent Management: Oversee recruitment processes to attract and retain top talent. Support performance management, including evaluations, goal setting, and feedback processes. Identify training and development opportunities to build employee skills and career growth. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local labor laws and regulations. Handle sensitive employee data with confidentiality and integrity. Conduct investigations and resolve workplace conflicts or grievances in a timely and professional manner. HR Operations and Reporting: Manage HR documentation, including employee records, contracts, and performance reviews.
Monitor and analyze HR metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement. Prepare reports for senior management on HR activities and policy updates. Strategic HR Initiatives: Partner with leadership to develop and execute HR strategies that support business objectives. Lead change management initiatives related to organizational structure, culture, or processes. Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) across all HR practices. What We're Looking ForAbility to speak, read, and write in both English and FrenchBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 5+ years of HR experience, retail experience is a plus.
Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices in Canada. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills. Proficiency in HR software and tools, with strong organizational and project management abilities.
