Ballygarry Estate, Hotel & Spa, a luxury 4 star hotel located on the outskirts of Tralee have an exciting opportunity for a Kitchen Porter to join our outstanding team. tJob Scope: To maintain a high level of operational hygiene in all kitchen areas in compliance with hotel and hygiene regulations.As a Kitchen Porter at Ballygarry Estate Hotel Spa. you'll play a vital role in supporting our kitchen team by maintaining cleanliness, organization, and efficiency within the kitchen. Your dedication and hard work will ensure a smooth operation, allowing our chefs to focus on delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our guests.Main Duties:Maintain a high level of personal hygiene throughout the duty shiftCarry out cleaning duties as outlined in cleaning schedule and complete daily/weekly cleaning checklists for all cleaning tasks performed. Cleaning of pots, pans, equipment etc as required and ensure they are stored correctly. Emptying of bins when full or as requested. Thorough deep cleaning as per schedule of kitchen/larder areas, equipment and storage areas. Maintain storage are for mops, brushes, detergents in a clean and tidy manner. Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling vegetables, preparing garnishes, and assisting the chefs as neededAssist in receiving and storing deliveriesWear relevant protective clothing provided when handling hazardous materials. To be aware and comply with company policy regarding: Fire, Health & Safety, Hygiene, Food Hygiene, Customer Care & Security. To read, understand and comply with your responsibilities as defined in the staff handbook. To attend meeting/training sessions as required. Areas of responsibility:Pot wash area and surroundsPot/pan storage areasKitchen/larder areas and surroundsRubbish/skip areasHygiene in kitchen areas and storage areasWashing of floorsYou must remain totally flexible in your position and may be required to carry out other tasks as directed by management.Skills and Qualifications:Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial but not mandatory; we welcome individuals who are hardworking and eager to learn. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene. Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job, including standing for extended periods and lifting/moving heavy items.
