Temple Bar Hotel is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Financial Controller to lead our Accounts Department at our vibrant four-star property in the heart of Dublin. As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the hotel, including income recognition, account reconciliation, monthly closing, internal controls, payroll, budgeting, and reporting. You will work closely with the General Manager and Director of Finance: department heads to safeguard company assets, control costs, and support revenue growth. Key ResponsibilitiesOversee day-to-day operations of the Accounts Department, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Review and approve financial reports, including Profit & Loss, balance sheets, and forecasts. Manage monthly closing processes and ensure timely and accurate journal entries. Monitor and reconcile bank and credit card accounts. Lead payroll processing, ensuring compliance with all legal and company policies. Ensure compliance with all taxation, regulatory, and audit requirements. Collaborate with department heads to track costs, reduce waste, and support financial decision-making. Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts in line with business goals. Maintain strong internal controls to protect hotel assets. Liaise with auditors, regulatory bodies, and hotel ownership as needed.
Provide financial insight to management to support strategic planning. RequirementsA qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior financial management role. Proven experience in hotel or hospitality finance preferred. Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Proficient in Excel and accounting software; experience with back office hotel systems is a plus. Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and leadership skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and support senior stakeholders. Previous experience working within hotels.
