Articulate, motivated and reliable, you will ideally have experience working in a lab or with a microscope.ResponsibilitiesThe successful applicant will work closely with the Dunedin team to:Process and identify macroinvertebrate samples from marine and/or freshwater environments in the customised taxonomy laboratory.Perform data collection, data entry and tabulation.Contribute to a range of lab processes, including the operation/maintenance of equipment.Skills And ExperienceTo have an effective start to the role you will ideally have:University qualifications in some element of environmental science or a minimum of two years relevant work experience.Experience in processing and accurately identifying benthic macroinvertebrates from New Zealand using identification keys.Experience with using stereo and compound microscopes.Experience with maintaining reference collections.Experience compiling data as well as maintaining data records and files.Willingness to develop marine and/or freshwater taxonomy skills (if not already present).Ability to work in a close team environment.Field work experience in freshwater and/or the marine environment would be advantageous.Excellent communication and reporting skills.A clean and active New Zealand driver’s licence.New Zealand citizenship/working rights are essential.Our BenefitsWe are proud of our unique culture where we work together to collaborate on projects to get the best possible outcome for our clients.
