Job Description
Friendship is looking for Lab TechnologistResponsible for:Ensure care & maintenance of all the lab instruments & equipment.Carrying out regular & emergency lab procedures.Ensure availability of all related reagents & logistics of the laboratory, ensure proper storage and usage of equipment & consumables.Review stock & initiate requisition for laboratory activities.Documentation of all lab activities.Keep service records and prepare monthly report.Protects patients and technicians by adhering to infection-control protocols.Attend all training and ensure knowledge dissemination to assistant.Ensuring collection, processing, and handling of all biological specimens according to IPCD.Counsel the patients on the sample collection process.Conducts blood tests for transfusion purposes; may draw blood from patient's finger, ear lobe, or vein observing principles of asepsis to obtain blood samples.Activities:Conducting and supporting scientific investigations and experiments.Performs a variety of clinical laboratory tests in the areas of hematology, microbiology, immunology, clinical chemistry, and urinalysis, as assigned; conducts quantitative and qualitative chemical analyses of body fluids such as blood, urine, and spinal fluid; performs blood counts using microscope.Develops and maintains cell/tissue cultures for testing purposes, as appropriate; isolates and identifies specimens, using advanced laboratory techniques.Performs quality control on test results, ensuring validity and accuracy.Performs calibration and troubleshooting on testing systems and instruments to ensure adherence to established standards of accuracy.Keeps records and reports on results according to established procedures.Practices safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.Planning, setting up, and undertaking controlled experiments and trials.Recording and analyzing data, and demonstrating procedures. Collecting, preparing, and/or testing samplesMaintaining, calibrating, cleaning, and testing the sterility of the equipmentProviding technical support and presenting results to senior staff.Keeping up to date with relevant scientific and technical developments.Supervising staff, carrying out risk assessments, ordering and maintaining stock and resources.Educational RequirementsDiploma in Medical TechnologyDiploma in Medical Technology (lab) under running Medical Faculty of Bangladesh or from any Government approved organization.Experience RequirementsAt least 2 year(s)Skill and Competencies:Job RequirementsAt least 2 years of experience in a pathological laboratory in a healthcare facility. NGO/Emergency response-related experience is preferredPrevious experience of working in NGO/Emergency response programme.Good inter personal communication skills.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities RequiredAbility to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.Ability to prepare and process laboratory samples using established protocols.Ability to monitor and/or maintain quality control standards.Good communication skill and basic computer skill.Ability to work under pressure in a hard-to-reach area.Job LocationAnywhere in Bangladesh
