Laboratory Analyst

The position may require the employee to support occasional call in for troubleshooting. The employee shall periodically be on call.ResponsibilitiesSetting up and operating laboratory equipment and instruments as outlined in current instructionsPerforming tests according to Analysis Plan / adhoc request from plants in order to monitor the production process on samples record test resultsCommunicating results to the relevant Operations personnelPreparing reagents and standards for analysis and synthesis of standards needed for analysis and calibrationMaintaining laboratory equipments to ensure proper working order and troubleshoot malfunctions when needed.Calibration, verification and preventive maintenance of laboratory equipments according to schedule.Purchasing and managing laboratory supplies such as chemicals , consumables etcInvolving in risk assessment activities and adhere to safe practices in the laboratoryProviding training and technical support to lab techniciansAssisting in method development and method validation activitiesCovering duties in other laboratory stream as assignedWriting and updating laboratory operations proceduresEnsuring laboratory equipment calibration and preventive maintenance performed in a timely manner.Upkeep records and maintain the Quality fileOrganizing ad hoc analysis on request to third party laboratoryAssisting in handling the customer complaint samples and investigationManaging retain samples from final products and raw materialRequirementsDiploma Chemistry / Degree in Chemistry or equivalentAt least 2-5 years of experience in an analytical laboratory environment in the chemical industry fluent in Spoken and written Englishteam playerattention to details with accurate data recording skillsSound knowledge and hands on experience in handling typical laboratory instruments like Titrators and chromatographic instruments etc.Lab equipment such as GC, HPLC, Automatic Titrators, AAS, UV Spectrometer, Glass Oven, Rotary evaporator, Density meter, X-ray, TOC-Analyzer, Molecular sieve, TGA Analyzer etc.Lab environment handling hazardous and toxic materialWilling to work in Jurong Island (Company Transport Provided)Your ApplicationTo ensure that your application is proceeded as quickly as possible and to protect the environment, please apply online via our careers portal.
