Laboratory Manager

Primary ObjectiveTo manage and support the operations of the Vares Mine Control Laboratory, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and alignment with ALS standards and local regulations.📌 Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with ALS HSEO, QA/QC policies and local laws.Execute business and expansion strategies for the lab.Lead and mentor lab staff, arrange training and development.Maintain high safety standards and investigate incidents.Ensure turnaround times (TAT) meet client and contractual expectations.Manage lab operations, budgets, and cost control (e.g., overtime).Maintain equipment, stock levels, and ensure uninterrupted operations.Archive and manage laboratory data for accessibility and analysis.Attend mine management meetings and report lab performance/issues.Coordinate with executive leadership on local business compliance. 🔬 RequirementsDegree in Chemistry or Geology.Minimum 3 years in a similar management role.Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.Advanced computer proficiency.Fluent in English (written and spoken).Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure.Proactive, hands-on, and solution-oriented mindset.Willingness to travel as needed.
