Job Description: Laboratory Scientist – Single-Cell & Molecular BiologyOverview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Scientist to support their single-cell and molecular biology workflows. The successful candidate will contribute to generating high-quality single-cell omics data from human FFPE and frozen samples, working closely with the research and technology teams in a collaborative laboratory environment.Key ResponsibilitiesExecute standardized single-cell omics workflows under the supervision of a senior laboratory engineer.Manage the reception, tracking, and preparation of human samples (frozen and/or FFPE).Perform library preparation using 10x Genomics or similar platforms.Conduct PCR/qPCR assays, nucleic acid purification, quantification, and quality control.Prepare and run next-generation sequencing (NGS) experiments (Illumina platform).Accurately document results and maintain experiment records using electronic lab notebooks (e.g., Labguru or equivalent).Contribute to the development and validation of new molecular and multi-omics methods.Support day-to-day laboratory operations, including stock management, ordering, and equipment maintenance.QualificationsDegree in Biotechnology, Biological Engineering, or related discipline (BTS, DUT/BUT, or equivalent).Minimum of two years’ hands-on experience in a molecular biology or genomics laboratory.Proven experience with human biological samples and standard molecular biology techniques.Previous exposure to genomics or sequencing platforms is essential.Technical ExpertiseExperience in human sample handling, dissociation, or nuclei extraction.Competence in fluorescence microscopy.Strong background in molecular biology, including NGS library preparation, nucleic acid extraction, and qPCR/RT-qPCR.Familiarity with single-cell workflows (e.g., 10x Genomics) and automated liquid handling systems (e.g., EpiMotion, Mosquito) is a plus.Understanding of laboratory quality standards (ISO 15189, ISO 17025, GLP) would be advantageous.Personal AttributesComfortable with routine laboratory procedures and precise experimental execution.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented, with a commitment to producing high-quality data.Proactive, adaptable, and eager to contribute to a collaborative and innovative research environment.Good command of English (written and spoken).
