〈Job Profile〉The Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day laboratory operations for molecular testing (Includes core Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) services and other molecular biology tests), ensuring high-quality standards, and supporting technical staff in achieving accurate and timely diagnostic results.〈Job Responsibility〉Supervise laboratory staff and daily operations to ensure efficient and effective workflow from receipt of samples to generation of data for all testing platforms.Provide leadership, guidance and direction to the laboratory staff and collaborative work environment.Manage and optimize diverse molecular testing platforms, including Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) and other techniques such as quantitative PCR (qPCR/RT-qPCR), digital PCR (ddPCR).Ensure compliance with ISO 15189, 15190 and other relevant standards.Equipment & Inventory Management:a. Review instrument maintenance and calibration schedulesb. Review laboratory inventory, perform regular stock checks, and manage incoming reagents and supplies.Daily supervision for sample workflow, result validation, and testing report generationCoordinate with QA, Sales team, operation, clinicians, and external partnersStay abreast of technological advancements and industry trends to evaluate and recommend new equipment and methodologies for improving laboratory efficiency.Perform other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor or management.〈Job Qualification〉Education:Master's or Ph.D. in Medical Technology and hold a valid Medical Technologist license.A Bachelor's degree with extensive relevant experience may be considered.Experience:Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in a molecular biology or genomics laboratory.At least 1-2 years of direct experience with Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies and workflows.Experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 15189, CAP) in a clinical or regulated environment.Meets the following qualifications to be a provider in genomic medicine:a. Holds a degree in Medical Technology with at least 6 academic credits in molecular biology; orb. Has completed a certified training course with no fewer than 6 academic credits in molecular biology; orc. Possesses other qualifications as officially announced by the Medical Technology Council.Completion of genetic counseling training is a plusProven leadership or supervisory experience in a laboratory setting preferred.Technical Skills:Have experience handling biological specimens such as blood and tissue samples, with fundamental knowledge of Molecular Oncology.Proven experience in performing Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflows, including sample preparation, DNA/RNA extraction, library preparation, and sequencing, quality control, and basic data analysis/ understanding of NGS data quality metrics.Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is a plusProficient in English, with the ability to interpret scientific literature and communicate clearly in a professional settingSoft Skills:Exceptional communication, and interpersonal skills.Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities with keen attention to detail.Excellent organizational skill.Ability to work independently and collaborativelyProactive, adaptable.
