Laboratory Supervisor

About the RoleWe are seeking a Laboratory Supervisor I to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will oversee daily laboratory operations, ensure adherence to quality standards, manage staff, and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate processing, storage, and reporting of laboratory samples.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee day-to-day laboratory operations, including processing, storage, and management of umbilical cord blood, cord tissue units, and lenticules.Perform and supervise laboratory procedures in compliance with approved protocols and quality standards.Review and ensure the accuracy of client documentation, equipment maintenance logs, QC reports, and EQA results.Provide training, mentorship, and guidance to junior lab staff and ensure training records are up to date.Plan and manage staff rosters to ensure adequate coverage and operational efficiency.Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety regulations.Support inventory management and collaborate closely with the Laboratory Manager and Assistant Laboratory Manager.RequirementsEducation: Degree in Biomedical Science or a related discipline.Experience:4–5 years of experience in blood banks, tissue banks, testing, pathology, research, or commercial labs.Experience in training, mentoring, and supervising laboratory staff.Knowledge of laboratory equipment, maintenance protocols, and troubleshooting techniques.Skills & Competencies:Strong leadership and supervisory skills.Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.Other Requirements: Must be Hepatitis B immunized.
