Saltfoss’ work environment allows for great influence, the possibility to take on responsibility, and personal growth but also demands flexibility.THE ROLE We are looking for a Laboratory Technician that can support support and conduct experiments with molten salts and radioisotopes in our newly developed state-of-the-art laboratory. The role also includes maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring that all laboratory processes adhere to the highest standards of accuracy and safety. The laboratory technician will be a part of a team that is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized laboratory, ensuring correct and efficient laboratory workflows, stockkeeping and laboratory upkeep, performing and developing decommissioning of our experimental set-ups, as well as performing routine chemical and structural analyses on laboratory samples. The laboratory technician will be the owner of specific analytical techniques, will support the laboratory QA and implementation thereof and ensure compliance with relevant legislations.KEY RESPONSIBILITES & TASKS Support the laboratory team in ensuring compliance with relevant legislative requirements for laboratory facilities, the required documentation, and suggestions for implementation of these in the ever-developing workflows in our R&D laboratories.Execute experimental procedures and follow experimental protocols while participating in the development of SOPs. Note that this includes supporting the execution of experimental activities in the isotope laboratory and working with radioactive isotopes in fluoride salts. These processes include extremely hazardous chemicals and hence experiment design and execution are careful, precise and efficientWrite, execute, and improve procedures to run the laboratory efficiently.Procure consumables and chemicals and maintain basic laboratory inventory.Execute routine laboratory tasks such as decommissioning of experiments, equipment cleaning, maintenance and calibration, chemical segregation, chemical waste disposal, and maintenance of equipment logs.Enforce laboratory safety.Perform chemical and structural analysis on laboratory samples using various techniques, such as ICP-OES, ICP-MS, SEM, and XRD.Prepare material samples for microscopy analysis, using micro-preparation equipment such as cutting, embedding, polishing, and grinding.PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES Laboratory Technician education in chemistry or similar technical training.2+ years practical laboratory experience.Experience with micro-preparation equipment, including epoxy and isocyanates certification is preferred.Experience working in a regulated laboratory or industry (e.g. biological hazards, clean room) as well as knowledge of Danish regulations on laboratory work (e.g., Arbejdstilsynet) is preferred.Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) or other relevant GXP certification is preferred.Experience with characterization techniques such as SEM, XRD, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, etc. is an advantage, but not a prerequisite.Experience working with radioactive isotopes is an advantage, but not a prerequisite.PERSONAL COMPETENCIES Proactive and self-driven, with the ability to work and plan independently, taking ownership of tasks and driving them to completion.Team player with excellent communication skills, able to interact with many different stakeholders within a wide variety of technical disciplines.Result-oriented and committed to contributing to the overall success of the company, setting high standards and striving to exceed them.A role model for implementing good laboratory practices, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and maintaining a clean and organized laboratory environment.WHAT WE OFFER The chance to support the work on ground-breaking technology that will impact the global energy landscape.Collaborating with an international and diverse team.Personal and professional development opportunities and support.Informal and flexible work environment.Employee warrant program.WANT TO JOIN THE TEAM?
