Laboratory Technician at our production site near Ll. Skensved.Join Taconic Biosciences and help advance human health through laboratory science.Your main responsibility is to perform various laboratory and administrative functions to support health testing, murine biospecimen services, environmental monitoring program, qPCR and quality control of raw materials.Your key responsibilities:Perform laboratory techniques and procedures such asRodent surgery and aseptic techniquBlood, tissue, CSF, and bone marrow collectionEuthanasia and necropsyCell dissociation and microbiology platingHandling and injection of rodentsHandling and performing health testing including conducting physical exams, gross necropsy and dissection and evaluation of lesions and other abnormalities on mice and rats. Perform clinical parasitology examinations using various test methods. Aseptic collection of samples for serology, microbiology, pathology, and molecular testing of mice and rats. Perform and document environmental Monitoring (OF barriers) using Emtek air sampling and coordinate sample shipments. Collect and ship samples for Murine Biospecimens (MBS) from mice and rats as per client request. Conduct quality control testing of raw materials for European sites. Assist with setting up new assays for qPCR, including extraction, sample receipt and genotyping. Support administrative tasks, such as ordering, shipping coordination, and inventory management. Maintain laboratory safety, cleanliness, and compliance with established procedures. Comprehensive training will be provided. We do not expect you to have experience in all areas. We are looking for someone eager to learn, flexible, and motivated to grow in a collaborative environment.Your profile:Education as a Laboratory Technician or degree in BSc/MSc in Life Sciences. Completed FELESA B course. Documented experience working with rodents in a similar laboratory environment. Strong attention to detail, self-motivation, and ability to balance lab and administrative work. Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Danish and English. A positive attitude, integrity, and a genuine interest in teamwork across international functions. Working at TaconicYou will report to the Senior Manager, Health Diagnostics (based in the US) and be part of a small Danish team with you and another Laboratory Technician.You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional colleagues in Denmark, across Europe and the US.At Taconic, you’ll find a supportive environment with about 80 colleagues working across animal care and welfare, supply chain, sales, project management, and administrative functions.
