About The RoleAs a temporary labourer, you’ll work in a dynamic work environment where no two days are the same. Whether you’re digging trenches, operating heavy equipment, performing maintenance, or engaging with customers, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable operations of our natural gas systems. Labourers cover a range of responsibilities; your day-to-day tasks may include: Conducting inspections of gas pipelines to identify wear, damage, or potential safety hazards.
Responding to emergency calls, such as reports of gas leaks and hit lines, and working quickly to resolve the issue. Shoveling, digging, or trenching to expose pipelines for inspection or minor repairs. Using handheld leak detection equipment to survey gas lines for potential leaks. Documenting inspection findings and communicating them to supervisors for further action. What to Expect: Highly physical work, including repetitive shoveling, lifting, and bending. Exposure to outdoor conditions, including rain, snow, and extreme temperatures. Emergency work that may occur after hours or on weekends, paid overtime. What You’ll bring: High School Diploma or GED.
Valid Alberta Class '5' Driver’s License with a clean driver abstract Ability to successfully complete pre-employment testing, including background check and drug and alcohol screening. Experience in landscaping, general labour, trades, construction, mechanical, or field service work would be an asset Strong communication skills and physical stamina for working outdoors in all weather conditions.
