We have the perfect opportunity for you!The Part-Time Instructor WillTeach Engaging Curriculum: Use company-created curriculum and materials designed for advanced students to lead small classes in language artsEngage Students: Actively involve students in each class or student-led learning Classroom Management: Expertly manage up to 16 studentsGrade & Provide Feedback: Provide feedback on tests and assignmentsBuild Relationships: Connect with students and families to make a lasting impact on their educational journeyInspire Learning: Encourage a love for learning and critical thinking in language arts The Ideal Candidate HasBachelor’s degree is requiredA Bachelor’s degree in education or a humanities field is strongly preferredStrong content knowledge in reading, writing, and/or grammarClassroom teaching experience at the K-12 level is preferred.Experience teaching or tutoring studentsNot RequiredA formal teaching credential is not required for this position.Schedule (Academic Year)AoPS Academy is an afterschool program with classes in the evenings and on weekends. Candidates must be available to teach during weekday after-school hours (as early as 4pm) and/or on weekends.This position requires a minimum initial commitment of about 3 hours per week for each assigned class. Each course meets once per week for 1 hour 45 minutes. Schedule (Summer)During the summer, we offer multiple two-week camps between June - August.Camp classes are held Monday-Friday for 3 hours a day, with both morning and afternoon classes. Campus Location:This is an in-person position at our Pasadena location. Candidates must be located in Pasadena, CA or the greater area and must be able to commute to our campus.
