Job Summary (List Format) – Scientist, Food & NutritionRemote Support and implement scientific food and nutrition projects for the FDA from start to finish Develop requirements and documentation for food and nutrition initiatives Provide subject matter expertise on food standards, labeling, and regulatory compliance Assist senior consultants with analysis, evaluation, and recommendations for system improvements and optimization Participate in FDA meetings; collaborate with cross-functional teams to address technical and regulatory requirements Apply knowledge of FDA laws, regulations, and policies, especially regarding allergens, food labeling, and standards of identity Review and develop regulatory documents using both scientific and legal expertise Conduct analysis and quality control of FDA-regulated products, including food processing operations and analytical testing for compliance Maintain strong communication and documentation with stakeholders Occasionally attend onsite meetings at FDA facilities in College Park, MD, or other DC area locations
