About OUSOUS is a leading iron ore mining company with multiple sites and operations across Malaysia. We are committed to excellence in governance, risk management, safety, environment and operational integrity. We are seeking an experienced Lead Auditor to head our audit function and strengthen our assurance, control and risk frameworks.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement and maintain a risk-based internal audit plan for the company (including sites, operational units, corporate functions) aligned with OUS’s strategic objectives and risk profile.Lead audits of finance, operations, compliance, IT and HSE/environmental controls at mining/asset operations; evaluate adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, governance and risk management.Report audit findings, risk exposures and recommendations to senior management and the Audit Committee; monitor implementation of management actions and ensure timely closure of issues.Provide advisory support to management on control, process improvement, risk mitigation opportunities and embed audit insights into the business.Lead, develop and manage the audit team (and possibly external audit resources/contractors), build capability, mentor staff, and promote a culture of audit quality, ethical behaviour and continuous improvement.Use data analytics, audit tools and modern audit methodologies to enhance audit coverage, efficiency and effectiveness.Engage with operations, finance, risk and other stakeholders across the business; travel to site locations as required to execute audit assignments and understand operational risk context.Stay current with best practice in audit, risk, regulatory & industry developments (especially mining sector), and ensure audit methodology aligns accordingly.Requirements / QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a relevant discipline. A postgraduate qualification is a plus.Professional qualification such as CPA, CA, ACCA, CIA, CFE or equivalent.At least 8-12 years of audit experience, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a management or lead audit role, preferably in the mining/industrial/manufacturing sector.Strong knowledge of internal audit standards, risk management frameworks (e.g., COSO ERM), internal controls and assurance practices.Experience in auditing mining operations, manufacturing or heavy industry environment is highly desirable (including awareness of operational, HSE, asset/maintenance risk).Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills; ability to engage at senior levels and build effective relationships across the business.Strong analytical, problem-solving and report-writing skills; competence in audit tools, MS Office, data analytics is an advantage.Willingness to travel to operational sites and engage with frontline operations.High integrity, independence of mind, and a commitment to driving value through audit beyond compliance.
