In this role, you’ll take ownership of core backend services that power Liven’s ecosystem, help shape architecture and infrastructure decisions, and work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver real impact.You’ll lead a team of talented backend engineers, mentor them in best practices, and help drive the technical roadmap. Whether it’s payments, loyalty engines, merchant APIs, or internal tooling — your work will underpin mission-critical experiences for venues and users alike.What You'll DoLead a team of backend /Full Stack engineers delivering high-impact projects across the Liven platformDesign, build, and maintain scalable microservices with a focus on performance, security, and reliabilityOwn technical architecture and infrastructure decisions within your domainSet and enforce coding standards, review code, and ensure best practices in backend developmentCollaborate closely with Product, Design, and other Engineering teams to scope and deliver end-to-end solutionsDrive improvements in observability, monitoring, and alerting across servicesSupport rapid iteration through CI/CD, testing frameworks, and developer toolingMentor engineers and contribute to building a strong engineering cultureStay ahead of industry trends, tools, and technologies, and bring relevant insights to the teamQualifications8+ years of backend development experience, with 2+ years in a technical or team leadership roleExpertise in backend languages such as Node.js, TypeScript, Python, or Go (we’re mostly Node + TypeScript)Deep knowledge of building and maintaining APIs, microservices, and data-driven applicationsStrong experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and container orchestration (e.g., Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes)Proven ability to lead engineering teams, mentor developers, and drive deliverySolid understanding of system architecture, databases (SQL & NoSQL), caching, and distributed systemsPassion for clean code, automation, and continuous improvementClear communication skills and a collaborative, product-oriented mindsetGood to HaveExperience in fintech, payments, loyalty, or hospitality techFamiliarity with event-driven systems, Kafka, or message queuesExperience with serverless architectures or GraphQL APIsExposure to PCI compliance, security practices, and handling sensitive dataStartup/scale-up experience with ownership over full development cyclesContributions to developer tooling or internal platforms
