Lead Data Scientist

Summary:As a Lead Data Scientist, you will be responsible for leading and executing complex data science projects. This involves outlining project requirements, working hands-on with data, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing technical guidance to the data science team. You will also play a key role in driving business growth by actively engaging in pre-sales activities, including requirements gathering, solution design, and presenting compelling data-driven solutions to senior client stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesDefine and lead the overall data science strategy, aligning with the organization's business objectives.Identify opportunities for data-driven innovation and oversee the development of data science initiatives.Collaborate with business leaders to translate complex business problems into actionable data science projects.Recruit, hire, and mentor a high-performing team of data scientists.Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.Provide guidance and support to team members, including code reviews, technical discussions, and career development.Employ advanced statistical techniques, machine learning algorithms, and data mining methods to extract valuable insights from complex data.Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in the field of data science.Develop and implement innovative data science solutions to address challenging business problems.Design, develop, and deploy robust and scalable data science models.Ensure the quality, accuracy, and reliability of models through rigorous testing and validation.Collaborate with engineering teams to operationalize models and integrate them into production systems.Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.Present findings and insights in a clear and compelling manner, using visualizations and storytelling techniques.Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization to foster collaboration and drive adoption of data-driven decisions.Qualifications:Advanced degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or similar.7+ years of experience in data science, with a proven track record of delivering impactful data-driven solutions.Experience leading data science teams and managing projects.Certifications in data science, machine learning, or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) will be advantageous.Strong proficiency in Python and R, including libraries like NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms (supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning), deep learning, and natural language processing.Proficiency in statistical analysis techniques, hypothesis testing, and statistical modeling.Experience in computer vision and / or natural language processing (NLP) is a huge plus.In-depth understanding of SQL. Experience with data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing.Skill in using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, Seaborn) to communicate insights effectively.Knowledge of big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and distributed computing frameworks.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.Ability to understand business needs and translate them into data science solutions.A creative mindset to explore new approaches and innovative solutions.
