Job Description

Primary ResponsibilitiesClient & Project Design Management • Lead clients through the full design process — from conceptual discussions and preliminary plans to final selections and construction drawings. • Conduct initial design consultations to assess client goals, architectural style preferences, budget expectations, and site considerations. • Develop and present floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings using Chief Architect, AutoCAD, or equivalent design software. • Provide expert design guidance on spatial layout, material selections, finishes, lighting, color palettes, and architectural details that align with the project’s vision. • Host and document all client design meetings, maintaining clear communication and professional presentation standards.Coordination with Estimating and Construction • Work closely with the estimating team to align design intent with budgetary goals and assist in developing accurate design-phase budgets. • Prepare detailed specification sheets, fixture schedules, and selection documents to support estimating and procurement. • Collaborate with project managers and superintendents to ensure design details are implemented accurately in the field. • Review construction documents and shop drawings for design consistency and quality control. • Provide ongoing design oversight during construction, offering solutions for field changes or unforeseen conditions.Selections & Documentation • Curate and manage all interior and exterior material selections — cabinetry, flooring, plumbing fixtures, lighting, hardware, paint, roofing, stone, and more. • Maintain organized digital files for all selections, including supplier quotes, cut sheets, and approval documents. • Oversee creation of mood boards and digital design presentations for client approvals and marketing use. • Coordinate directly with vendors and trade partners to obtain samples, verify lead times, and confirm specifications.Brand, Innovation & Leadership • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of design trends, materials, and local market preferences to enhance client offerings. • Collaborate with the leadership team on refining Wozniak Builders’ design standards, templates, and client experience process. • Support marketing and sales efforts through occasional showroom staging, design content creation, and participation in client showcase events.
