Job SummaryThe Lead Training Instructor – Cadet Academy is responsible for overseeing the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of training programs for cadets and guards across the organization. The role ensures that all trainees are equipped with the skills, discipline, and professionalism required to deliver top-quality manned guarding services. The job holder will lead a team of instructors, monitor cadet performance, and uphold the highest standards of training and conduct within the academy.Position DescriptionKey Accountabilities / ResponsibilitiesTraining Program Development and DeliveryDevelop, implement, and update training modules covering security operations, physical fitness, customer service, and professional ethics.Deliver both classroom and field training to cadets, ensuring understanding and practical application of key competencies.Evaluate and certify cadets based on performance standards and assessment criteria.Ensure training content aligns with company policies, operational standards, and industry regulations.Instructor Supervision and MentorshipProvide leadership and guidance to instructors to ensure consistency and excellence in training delivery.Conduct train-the-trainer sessions to strengthen instructional capabilities.Promote teamwork, discipline, and continuous learning within the training team.Cadet Management and DevelopmentOversee cadet welfare, discipline, attendance, and overall conduct during training.Foster a culture of respect, professionalism, and accountability among cadets.Identify and support high-performing cadets for advancement opportunities.Curriculum and Process ImprovementReview and enhance training programs to reflect emerging trends in security management and technology.Collaborate with Operations and HR to ensure training outcomes match deployment requirements.Recommend improvements to training infrastructure, materials, and delivery methods.Reporting and ComplianceMaintain accurate training records, cadet evaluations, and certification data.Prepare periodic reports on training activities, cadet performance, and academy operations.Ensure compliance with internal policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.Job RequirementsQualificationsFirst degree in Security Management, Criminology, or related field.Professional certification in Security Training or Instructional Techniques is an advantage.ExperienceMinimum of 5–7 years’ experience in security training or manned guarding operations.Proven expertise in instructional design, security drills, and cadet management.Experience leading training teams or academies within the private security sector.Functional CompetenciesTraining Design and FacilitationSecurity Operations KnowledgePeople Leadership and MentorshipPerformance Evaluation and CoachingCurriculum Development and DeliveryReport Writing and Record ManagementPersonal AttributesStrong Leadership and Discipline OrientationIntegrity and Professional ConductExcellent Communication and Presentation SkillsTeam-Oriented and MotivationalAttention to Detail and AccountabilityInnovative and Result-DrivenThe person must reside in Lagos.
