Lead Process Safety Engineer

LEAD PROCESS SAFETY ENGINEERLocation: Stockholm, SE – with occasional business trips as required.Contract duration: initial 12-month contract - renewableStart Date: ASAPProject: Green SteelWe are seeking a Lead Process Safety Engineer to oversee safety engineering for a large-scale industrial development in Boden. The role is responsible for ensuring that all facility designs prioritise safety and comply with regulatory standards. You will work closely with engineering contractors and equipment vendors to validate safety aspects and define safety standards for the project.Key responsibilities are:Ensure safety is embedded in facility design and risk is minimised for personnel and the surrounding community.Define and implement safety standards aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.Map and interpret relevant regulatory requirements and communicate them effectively to stakeholders.Facilitate communication between engineering teams, contractors, vendors, and regulatory bodies.Establish systems for compliance assurance, including monitoring, inspections, and audits.Report to the Central Engineering Manager and Head of Engineering.Requirements:MSc in Engineering or related discipline.Minimum 10 years’ experience in large-scale industrial projects, with at least 4 years in technical safety.Experience in HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, SIL, risk assessments, occupational safety, and hazard management.Familiarity with hydrogen systems or LNG is a strong advantage.Knowledge of Swedish, European, and international safety standards and regulations is essential.Understanding of permitting systems and consent-to-operate processes for major industrial plants.The next stepWe have an exceptional team in place, and we are pleased to be able to appoint a further person to our growing business.
