Do you want to play a key role in supporting leadership and democratic governance in a global NGO? We’re looking for a Leadership & Governance Coordinator (maternity cover) who can quickly step in, connect people and keep our organization running smoothly.The RoleAs Leadership & Governance Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in supporting our Secretary General, Leadership Team, and elected governance bodies. You’ll keep processes, meetings, and communication running smoothly — ensuring clarity, structure, and accountability between the Council, the Board, and the Secretariat.Your Main Responsibilities Will IncludeCoordinating meetings, elections, and follow-ups for the Council and Board.Supporting the Secretary General on communication, priorities, and daily coordination.Preparing presentations, write-ups, and background materials.Supporting internal communication and management group meetings.Coordinating governance projects and strategic processes.Because this is a maternity cover, we’re looking for someone who learns fast, adapts easily to new systems and structures, and quickly finds their way around the organization. The role occasionally requires availability for evening meetings and a few weekends per year.Team ContextYou’ll be part of the Leadership Team, which consists of the Secretary General, Director of Finance & Administration, Director of Engagement & Income Generation, and Director of Programmes. Together, they are responsible for the daily management of the Secretariat and the execution of the strategy defined by the Council and the yearly plan agreed with the Board.At ActionAid Denmark, democracy, transparency, and accountability are core values — and they guide how we work together across members, governance bodies, and the Secretariat.QualificationsWe expect you to bring strong coordination, organization, and communication skills, along with at least three years of experience as an executive assistant or in a similar role.You Can Demonstrate Your Ability ToCoordinate complex processes and deliver high-quality results with discretion and reliability.Work confidently with different stakeholders in a dynamic and evolving environment.Communicate clearly and purposefully in both Danish and English, written and spoken.Stay proactive, organized, and detail-oriented — even when things move fast.It’s an advantage if you have political flair, a strong strategic understanding, and experience facilitating engagement in democratic or governance contexts.We OfferA full-time position (37 hours/week) with flexible working hours and workplace arrangements.Employment under the relevant collective agreement (AC or HK), depending on your educational background, including local agreements.A maternity cover contract from 12 January to 1 December 2026 (approx. 10 months).An organic and vegetarian lunch scheme.A meaningful role in an international, purpose-driven organization working for social justice, climate action, and equality — with dedicated colleagues in Denmark and 45 countries worldwide.Application and ProcessThe application deadline is 13 November 2025 (midnight).
