Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE JOBThe L&D Specialist designs, delivers, and evaluates engaging training programs that strengthen team member skills, boost leadership capability, and support our restaurant operations. The position plays a key role in helping our people succeed—from onboarding new hires to developing future leaders.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESPartner with People & Culture, Operations, and cross-functional teams to assess training needs across our restaurants and support functions.Design and deliver training programs (e-learnings, virtual webinars, on-the-job training and job aids) that are practical, interactive, and aligned with business goals.Create and maintain field-facing training materials, job aids, and e-learning modules that are clear, engaging, and user-friendly, leveraging and localizing Global curriculum where applicable. Support continued education and leadership development initiatives and coaching guidance for above restaurant leaders and franchisees on effective people development.Facilitate new Team Member and Franchisee onboarding to ensure smooth integration into the company culture and operations.Measure training effectiveness through feedback, performance metrics, and business outcomes.Provide updates and maintenance to the Learning Management System (LMS) and provide guidance to the technical support team in troubleshooting issues as needed.Stay on top of L&D best practices, hospitality trends, and new learning technologies to keep our programs modern, up-to-date and impactful.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREDEducation/CertificationsRequired: Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, adult learning, or a related field (or equivalent academic background)ExperienceThis role must have…2 years of experience in corporate learning & development, training, or a related HR roleStrong facilitation skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences, from restaurant team members to senior leadersDemonstrated experience designing training programs and materials, including digital learning content Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Premier Pro, Acrobat, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)Proficiency with eLearning authoring tools, video creation software, and LMS platforms (Articulate Storyline 360, Vyond,etc.)Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PPT)Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship-building skillsStrong organizational and project management abilities, with an eye for detailA passion for people development and a genuine belief in the power of learningWe’d prefer this role to have…Bilingual proficiency in English and French (Canadian)Prior experience – including through summer jobs, internships, or volunteer work - in hospitality, restaurants, retail, or other customer-service settingsBenefits:Hybrid work modelPaid Vacation days plus additional YUM! paid holidaysEAP Programs available to family as well Comprehensive benefits packageLife insurance, disability, and wellness programsRetirement savings programs including RRSP and DPSP with employer contributionEmployee referral programWhat makes KFC a great place to work?Our People.
