With beautiful grounds and a connected community, Toorak College provides an ideal environment for both students, educators and operational staff to work together to bring about the change we wish to see in the world.Role And ResponsibilitiesAs the Learning Enhancement Teacher Assistant, you will be responsible for providing enhancement - both support and enrichment - to students from Year 7 - 12. You will play a key role in fostering academic growth in identified students and work closely with classroom teachers, to support their efforts in creating an inclusive and effective learning environment.Working collaboratively with colleagues, you will help develop and implement tailored strategies to meet the diverse needs of our students. This role is offered as a part-time, ongoing position, providing consistent and meaningful assistance to learners throughout their secondary education journey.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide targeted academic support to students with additional learning needs in individual or small group settings.Collaborate with teaching staff to implement differentiated learning plans and accommodations.Assist in the preparation and adaptation of teaching resources and materials.Monitor and document student progress, offering feedback to teachers and the Learning Enhancement Team.Support the development of students' social, emotional and organisation skills.Maintain a safe, respectful, and encouraging learning environment.Participate in regular team meetings and professional development opportunities.Qualifications and Experience:Relevant qualification in Education, Special Education, Learning Support, or a related field, with demonstrated expertise in learning enhancement support and extension.Experience working with children, preferably in a school or educational support setting, including knowledge of diverse learning needs and effective intervention strategies.Proven ability in applying learning enhancement techniques across literacy and numeracy, with experience writing and reviewing individual Education Plans (IEPs).Extensive knowledge of special education assessment tools and the ability to deliver targeted student interventions.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff and families, combined with patience, empathy, and a positive approach to student development.A current Working with Children Check - Employer is required.Why Choose Toorak College?Beautiful Mornington Peninsula location - a walk from the beach.Toorak College staff have access to our on-site Athletics and Gym facilities, and Employee Assistance Program to support their wellbeing.On-site cafe and regularly catered Morning Teas and Lunches for staff.Toorak College prides itself on a supportive and collegial culture among staff and students.Utilise cutting-edge facilities and resources.You can find out more about us at www.careers.toorakcollege.vic.edu.auApplication ProcessPlease submit a cover letter and two (2) page resume, including the name and contact details of two (2) confidential referees.
