Job Description

Position OverviewLedgent Finance & Accounting's client is actively seeking a Director of Purchasing to join their team in North Carolina. This leadership role is essential for driving procurement excellence and ensuring alignment with the mission and values. The Director of Purchasing will manage a variety of procurement and contracting services, playing a pivotal role in maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations. ResponsibilitiesDevelops, recommends, and administers policies, procedures, and processes for procurement and contracting services, ensuring alignment with the mission, values, and compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

Directs traditional procurement operations as well as Travel and Expense Reporting. Oversees and maintains responsibility for the Purchasing Card program, including both supply and travel cards. Develops and maintains a high-performance team providing best-in-class service. Ensures integrity of all procurement processes. Manages contract renewals, month-over-month usage, and vendor due diligence. Manages the execution of request for proposals, bid analysis, contract development, and negotiation, ensuring that the end-to-end process is well documented and transparent. Drives process improvement and continuous improvement in all aspects of assigned job duties.

Works closely with Accounts Payable and internal business partners to promptly resolve supplier payment issues. Facilitates supplier selection and develops data analysis and requirements for informed supplier decisions. Serves as a subject matter expert for best-in-class procurement practices and tools. Works with operations teams to identify and execute new or creative approaches, strategies, and processes to address business needs. Provides coaching and guidance to staff, ensuring that team members are consistently performing to company standards, building an open-communication environment, and conducting performance appraisals. Work HoursMonday to Friday, first shift.

BenefitsThis position offers a competitive salary ranging from $50 to $55 per hour. The role requires minimal travel, around 0%, and is a supervisory position.
