HCB Widdows Mason is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Legal Assistant to join our Education Law team. This position is perfect for individuals who are interested in supporting clients with educational rights and legal matters, including special educational needs (SEN) and school admissions. We provide thorough training to equip the right candidate with the necessary skills.Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:Assisting clients with inquiries related to education law and navigating the legal systemKeeping clients updated on their cases and monitoring case progressOpening and closing files, ensuring compliance with legal standards and firm policiesConducting legal research on relevant education laws and policiesDrafting letters, legal documents, and reports to support clients' casesSupporting solicitors in preparing documentation for hearings and school meetingsMaintaining accurate and up-to-date records in our case management systemsPerforming general administrative duties, including scheduling appointments and managing calendarsProviding occasional reception cover as requiredRequirementsStrong organisational and time management skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsA high level of discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive informationAttention to detail and accuracy in drafting documentsPrior experience in education law or a legal environment is beneficial but not essentialBenefitsCompetitive salary dependent on experience25 days holiday plus Bank HolidaysHoliday bonus scheme ( up to 12 additional days leave)Pension schemeParking (on a first come first served basis)Comprehensive training and development opportunities including support to study for professional qualificationsCycle to work schemeFirm funded eye testsMedicash PlanNote for recruitment/talent agents/agencies - HCB Widdows Mason Ltd undertakes its own recruitment.
