THE OPPORTUNITYOur client, a proudly Australian-owned food manufacturer, is celebrated for its commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainability. They are currently seeking a skilled Legal Counsel to deliver expert legal support across commercial, corporate, compliance, and employment matters, while partnering closely with the General Counsel to manage legal risks and contribute to strategic initiatives that foster professional development.During the initial training period and the first 3–6 months of employment, team members are required to work on-site full time. Upon successful completion of probation, hybrid work arrangements will be considered in consultation with the Account Manager. The standard hybrid model consists of three days in the office and two days working from home. The office is located at Bonifacio Stopover, Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide timely, commercial legal advice across various risk areas and proactively identify and mitigate legal risks.Draft, review, and transform contracts (e.g., procurement, employment, leases) and manage contract lifecycle software (Plexus).Advise on employment matters including terminations, performance issues, and redundancies.Act as Privacy Officer, ensuring adherence to Australian Privacy Laws and internal policies.Support marketing approvals, influencer agreements, trade promotions, and brand protection including IP compliance and training.Ensure compliance with consumer laws, review marketing and packaging, and support legal training programs.Partner with procurement on supply terms and advise on contractual disputes.Deliver legal onboarding for new hires and develop training materials for compliance programs.Monitor legislative changes, update company policies, and manage legal intranet and admin support.Skills, Experience & Qualification Holds a Bachelor of Laws (or equivalent) and a current unrestricted practising certificate, with working knowledge of contract, employment, IP, consumer, and competition law. Over 5 years’ post-admission experience in law firms or in-house roles, ideally within FMCG or commercial legal departments. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex legal and regulatory issues and deliver pragmatic, business-ready solutions.Skilled in drafting clear, concise legal advice and commercial contracts, with proven ability to simplify legal concepts for all levels of the business.Extensive experience in drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements with confidence and precision.Builds strong relationships across seniority levels, partnering effectively with stakeholders to navigate legal matters collaboratively.Manages multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, delivering results independently while keeping stakeholders informed.Works collaboratively, embraces continuous learning, and leads with integrity aligned to company values.ASW OFFERS Be part of a Great Place to Work® certified company that's going places!
