Legal Counsel

The ideal candidate will be responsible for in-house legal matters including drafting agreements, addressing compliance issues, and participating in negotiation discussions. In order to succeed, this candidate should feel comfortable working with in-house and outside counsels on a variety of legal matters.ResponsibilitiesProvide legal support to Midea’s growing manufacturing operations, including three factories in Indonesia.Provide legal support for daily legal matters, projects and initiatives on a broad range of issues including custom, employment, infrastructure, logistic, supply chain, general corporate matters, compliance and risk management and local community issues.Manage disputes with external lawyers.Support for investigations and audits (internal & external) where relevant to the Legal function.QualificationsLaw degree and license to practice law in Indonesia.5+ years’ working experience as a lawyer or an in-house counsel, or a combination thereof.Experience in the manufacturing industry and handling complex employment issues.Business acumen, with the ability to balance commercial and legal considerations to deliver commercial solutions.Professional proficiency in EnglishPreferred Qualifications (nice to have)Working experience at multinational companies or leading law firmsStudy abroad experienceProactive with the ability to manage priorities, be organized, methodical, and perform well under high pressure and tight deadlines.Proficiency in ChineseRequired Education & Certificate:Minimum of Bachelor of Legal from well known university. Master Degree would be an advantageLegal Counsel certification from PERADI.
