Legal Counsel

I am currently partnering with a leading international reinsurance group to identify a high-calibre Legal Counsel to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a lawyer with strong insurance or reinsurance sector experience who is looking to broaden their exposure and take on a key role within a global organisation.The RoleIn this role, you will report directly to the General Counsel and play a central role in supporting both local and group-level legal work. This includes providing advice across corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters, as well as supporting business transactions and governance initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide day-to-day legal support to the Bermuda entity and wider group functions.Advise on a broad range of (re)insurance, corporate, and regulatory matters.Draft, review, and negotiate reinsurance contracts and related agreements.Support the General Counsel with governance, compliance, and strategic projects.Liaise with regulators, external counsel, and internal business stakeholders.Contribute to ongoing improvements in legal risk management and internal processes.The Ideal CandidateQualified lawyer with approximately 4–8 years’ PQE (guideline only).Experience within the insurance or reinsurance sector—either in private practice or in-house.Strong technical grounding in corporate, commercial, and/or regulatory law.Common law qualification (e.g., UK, Canada, Australia).Excellent communication, drafting, and stakeholder management skills.Why Apply?Join a respected and well-capitalised international reinsurer.Gain exposure to complex, cross-border legal work.Competitive salary and relocation package.Collaborative, professional environment with excellent career prospects.
