About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled and business-minded Legal Counsel to join our Group Legal team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting Stora Enso’s commercial success and strategic transformation in renewable packaging. You will report to the Head of Legal Services.Your focus will be on advising the business on route-to-market strategies, contracting with key customers, and optimizing related processes. You will manage legal workstreams across corporate and strategic business projects, including process improvements. A critical part of your role will be managing legal and compliance risks—protecting the company while fostering a culture of sound risk assessment and informed decision-making.Key ResponsibilitiesIndependently manage day-to-day legal matters and projects across jurisdictionsAct as a strategic business partner, identifying legal risks and opportunities to support growth and transformationProvide legal analysis and guidance on commercial transactions, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreementsDrive simplification and efficiency across legal operations through training, repeatable models, and the use of AI-enabled toolsContribute actively to the Group Legal community and support functional development.QualificationsAn LLM degree, preferably from a Swedish or Finnish university4–6 years of experience in commercial law, gained from reputable business law firm and/or in-house legal teamExcellent command of English, fluency in Swedish and/or FinnishCurious and driven to grow professionally as a legal business partner, with a strong commitment to building solid business understandingProven track record from advising and drafting global contracts and strategic business projectsExcellent drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills, combined with strong communication and influencing capabilitiesAbility to simplify legal complexity into actionable, strategic guidance for business stakeholdersAbility to manage competing priorities and identify areas that require escalation.What we offerBy joining us you will be part of diverse working culture supporting you to explore new perspectives and develop professionally.
