Reporting to the General Counsel, this is an excellent opportunity to utilise your skills and experience with a leading global motor company. This role will see you providing legal advice and support to the Yamaha Motor Australia Group which includes Yamaha Motor New Zealand, across various disciplines of law.Yamaha’s Motor Australia’s group legal, risk and compliance function is responsible for providing strategic legal advice to enable the organisation to achieve its commercial objectives and manage legal risks.About the roleIn this role you will be responsible for: providing legal advice to the business on commercial contracts, disputes, consumer claims, competition matters, finance, insurance, marketing, franchising, and intellectual property;advising the business in relation to the legal and regulatory environment and trends that may impact the group;managing contract reviews, the execution process, and the contract register;assisting in preparing for matters related to hearings/disputes/mediation;assisting in preparing reports and responses to requests for information as required;providing training to the business on diverse topics related to relevant legislation; andother duties and responsibilities as nominated and directed by the company from time to time.Collaborating and supporting Yamaha Motor Corporation in Japan and its subsidiaries around the world.About YouTo be successful for the role you will:be a qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5 years PQE who is able to practice in Australia and has experience working for a respected law firm or similar in-house role;possess strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to participate effectively in a team environment;have experience in corporate and commercial law including contract law, consumer law, intellectual property law, corporations’ law, competition and consumer law (including franchising laws) and privacy law;have the ability to balance outcomes between legal and regulatory requirements and business strategic objectives;have a high attention to detail and an ability to work independently. What's on offer?Full-time position, based at our Wetherill Park office.6-monthly performance bonuses.Discounted product purchases, along with the ability to borrow selected Yamaha products.A friendly work environment that encourages individuals to exceed their goals and develop.Being part of a global network within the Yamaha Group Companies.Flexible working hoursHybrid work from home arrangement.We aim to create a clear career path and a bright future for all employees.
